Research and design project to drive our inhouse capabilities. An alien planet that is wildly unexpected yet beautiful and meaningful. A place where fauna and flora float on a planet ⅓ the size of Earth.
A world in the Air
AIR RESEARCH
In building out this innovate world we have considered everything from the type of creatures and technology to the flora and fauna that would exist.
△ CREATURE DESIGN | AIRFLOATER | These creatures use flotation bladders to change their altitude. Since the advent of technology they have added to this ability with artificial bladders to increase their floating capabilities such as being able to lift bigger loads.
△ FLORA DESIGN | FLOATER + AIRBANYAN + WILLOW | The king of the sky, part animal, part plant. Using air sacs to spread out further. As this flora grows it drops down poisonous tendrils to stop other flora growing under it.
△ VEHICLE DESIGN | AIRSHIP | Somewhere between a plane and an airship this vehicle uniquely fits this planets atmosphere and the airfloater creatures body plan that have invented it.
△ TYPOGRAPHY DESIGN | ALPHABET | An alphabet has been devised working from the creatures body plan and the biotic and abiotic visual forms on the planet that would inspire it's form. Namely the inflated flora and its thorns / needles.
